Maria Babu she/her
Facilitator - Edmonton, AB
Maria is a multidisciplinary artist, facilitator, and community builder who works at the intersection of community, creativity, and conscious human connection. For nearly a decade, she has explored mindfulness, meditation, and embodiment practices as pathways to deeper presence and relational aliveness.
With years of personal practice in yoga and somatic awareness, and various certifications including in Mindfulness Meditation, Psychosomatic Energetics (PSE) and Trauma Informed Care, Maria brings a finely attuned, heart-led sense of the body, mind, breath, and environment to her facilitations.
Her journey with authentic relating and circling began in 2019 and it has deepened her capacity to hold spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected — to themselves, to one another, and perhaps, to something greater.
As a community strategist and workshop facilitator, Maria has supported community organizations, startup founders and small businesses in fostering meaningful engagements and cultivating environments where authentic connection drives sustainable growth.
As an artist, she weaves language, sound, and performance into living experiences of homecoming and expanded awareness. Her poetry has been published in her limited-edition chapbook, The Circle’s Cycle, and featured in The Polyglot Magazine & launches, Stroll of Poets anthologies, at the Edmonton Poetry Festival, and more.
Maria is also an innovation and community catalyst with The Polyglot Hub, a volunteer-led team uplifting international, multilingual, and cross-cultural creativity through publications, programs, and community-rooted events.
Maria believes in the power of heart-led presence as both a personal practice and a collective one. Whether guiding a circle, hosting a gathering, or creating a performance, she invites people into spaces where presence becomes artful aliveness, and integrates into an inspired way of life.
